What does a man with everything splash out £10,000 on? For One Direction star Harry Styles the answer is a pretty cool lamp.
Haz almost has enough to open an art gallery, with pieces by Bambi – the female Banksy – Polly Morgan and late Haitian-US artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. He’s even branched out in taxidermy with work by Rory Dobner. Well, that’s one way to impress the ladies…
The piece is a collaboration between his jewellery designer pal Dominic Jones, and artists Thomas Campbell and Joe Armitage. The dapper trio were showing their collection, which ranges between £1,000 and £10,000, at LFW on Monday night in uber cool Cob Gallery at Central London club Blacks.
I hear the elaborately bejewelled standing lamp – which includes a multicoloured shade and metalwork from Dominic – is being finished while Harry is touring the US with 1D.
It will then be delivered to Harry’s luxury four-bedroom home. Harry, 20, worth an estimated £25million, already has an extensive stockpile of art, valued at around £150,000.
And, I hear, he’s becoming rather houseproud, espesh since he’s become friendly with the hip celeb crowd including Nick Grimshaw, Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne and his hairdresser Lou Teasdale.
My source tells me: “Harry’s got a real eye for style and takes decorating his pad very seriously. He might be away a lot with the band, but he wants to make sure his home is really classy. He wants to show off his art to family and friends and is proud of his collection.”
The 1D hunk, who joined pals for bandmate Niall Horan’s 21st birthday, was apparently partying a little too hard and ended up hurting himself.
A source said that the singer “got a bit carried away” as he was throwing some shapes while celebrating on Sunday night.
But a representative for the star, who turned 21 himself on August 29, claimed he had hurt himself while “training” and was not breakdancing as sources suggest. Hmmm…
