The world doesn’t seem to get enough of Roy Lichtenstein. In London, the “Lichtenstein: a retrospective” exhibition at Tate Modern is an ongoing huge success, attracting record number of visitors. Co-organised by The Art Institute of Chicago and Tate Modern the show brings together 125 of pop icon’s most definitive paintings and sculptures, 16 years after the artist’s death.
The impact of his work has been tremendous on the art world but not only, judging by the above Youtube video “Pop Art / Comic Book Makeup Tutorial“ in which you will learn how to make yourself up like a living character from a Lichtenstein’s painting.
Roy Lichtenstein is a pop-art legend together with Andy Warhol, Tom Wesselmann, James Rosenquist and 84 year-old Robert Indiana, who is the last living one of them. All the artworks by the creator of the iconic “LOVE” piece (mid town Manhattan hosts a larger-than-life sculpture version of it), whose works are in the most important museums and collections worldwide, is inevitably set to exponentially rise in the next few years, and the rush to get hold of his limited edition signed artworks has already started.
