PRINCE HARRY and Meghan Markle have been together for a year. Now rumours are circulating that one gift got it all off the ground. Prince Harry, 32, bought an expensive painting for the Suits actress just days before the pair made it official.
The painting in question was purchased by Prince Harry last October, shortly before he made his romance with the stunning Suits actress public.
The piece itself is a soppy tribute to love, and was painted by Van Donna.
It was bought by the Prince when he visited Walton Fine Arts, a London gallery.
Was Harry sending a heartfelt plea to the LA-born Meghan Markle, 35, with the piece titled “Everybody Needs Somebody to Love”?
The piece comes on two separate square canvases, and is somewhat reminiscent of a Banksy piece.
A young couple, who appear to be children, walk hand in hand on one canvas in black ink.
The other half is in blue ink, and bears the title of the artwork in cursive script.
The piece has been crafted to appear
as though the images were spray painted on with a stencil – although this may not be the technique the artist used to create the work.
The artist, Van Donna, creates romance themed pieces, featuring hearts and butterflies.
The website for Walton Fine arts reads: “Van Donna = Van Gogh + Madonna. Both are the artist’s personal heroes and inspiration”.
Original paintings by the artist have sold for up to £3,000.
A source told the Mail Online: “He fell in love with the Van Donna diptych.
“After paying for it, he said, ‘Do you think I could split them up, keep one for myself and give the other to the important person?’ A few days later, he was photographed with Meghan and we realised who the ‘special person’ was.”
However, Harry is not the first man Meghan has been seriously involved with.
The Suits actress was married for two years, prior to meeting the Prince.
Now sources are claiming to know the reason the pair divorced in 2013.
Meghan met long-term beau Trevor Engelson, 40, seven years before they tied the knot in 2011 – and the pair had been together since university.
