Look, it’s hard enough dealing with a long-distance relationship at the best of times but when you’re doing it with a Royal?

You’d have to be pretty serious about the other person to put up with all of that hassle.

But Prince Harry seems out to prove to girlfriend Meghan Markle that he’s all in; PEOPLEhave confirmed that the 32-year-old bought an original piece of artwork with an incredibly cute, incredibly sweet message just days before his romance with the Suits actor first made headlines.

And then, just to really ramp up the romance, the Royal asked if the piece, called Everybody Needs Somebody To Love, could be split in half – so that it could be shared by two

“Harry is one of the regulars in the area and regularly goes into the shops and galleries with his bodyguard, kind of in stealth mode,” a local art collector revealed.

“He was in the gallery for a little while and liked a few things, then settled on the Van Donna.

“He said he was looking for something for ‘an important person’.

Everybody Needs Somebody To Love (Limited Edition Print)

“It was literally just before anyone heard about Meghan – literally days before it was announced he was going out with her.”

The above piece, similar to the one Prince Harry purchased, sold at auction last year for $8,400; it’s known as a diptych, in which two sides of a canvas make up one piece of art.

“Harry asked if he could split the diptych up,” the source added. “He said, ‘If it’s possible?’

“At the time nobody knew about Meghan Markle, but if it was for her then it’s a very romantic gesture.

“It’s a bit like a charm bracelet – where you give half of it to someone you’re involved with and keep the other half yourself.”

Meanwhile, we can’t even get a text back.
