Prince Harry parties at a uk festival as rumours swirl he’s about to propose to his girlfriend Meghan Markle.
rock ‘n’ roll collided with royalty last week when hrh prince harry headed to hyde park to watch the killers perform at the british summer time festival. despite attending without his girlfriend of one
year, meghan markle – who was filming tv drama Suits in canada – the 32 year old appeared in good spirits, sipping a bottle of beer and posing for a selfie with a blonde pal.
meanwhile, with rising speculation of an official engagement announcement, meghan has reportedly been wedding dress shopping in toronto, where she’s based. it’s thought that she tried on gowns by bridal designer paloma blanca, including a traditional number featuring a strapless bodice.
it has also emerged that last october, in the early stages of their romance, harry reportedly splashed out £10,000 on a painting by british artist Van Donna from london gallery Walton Fine Arts. the artwork is titled Everybody Needs Somebody To Love and features a couple holding hands on one canvas, with the title words written across the other.
an insider revealed that the prince had said ‘he was looking for something for an important
person in his life’. the source added: ‘after paying for it, he said: “do you think i could split them up – keep one for myself and give the other to the important person?”’
a friend claimed the 35 year old rejected a frock with an exposed midriff, fearing it was
inappropriate for a royal wedding. the insider said: ‘she joked she couldn’t walk down the
aisle of Westminster abbey in it!’ american-born meghan recently flew back to her toronto apartment accompanied by a full-time minder, after spending ten days in the uk with her boyfriend. ken Wharfe, a former police bodyguard to harry’s late mother diana, princess of Wales, explained: ‘it would make
sense for meghan to have a bodyguard. there is intense pressure on her.’
it’s thought that the prince will propose this summer with a ring made from a bracelet belonging to his beloved mother. a source close to the couple said: ‘it’s not if, but when they’ll get married. they’re deeply in love and can’t bear to be apart from each other. the next stage is for meghan to meet hm the Queen and that could happen the next time she’s over [in the uk],’ they added.
meanwhile, harry has described his late mother as ‘one of the naughtiest parents’ and ‘the best
mum in the world’ while filming an itv documentary to mark the 20th anniversary of
diana’s death, which airs next week. While looking through a private photo album with his
brother prince William, he also notes it’s the first time the pair have spoken publicly about what the
princess was like as a mother.
